Thematically Linked Comprehension Texts with Supporting Resources

Real Comprehension takes a thematic approach to developing pupils' understanding of texts, building their vocabulary and encouraging them to make links with their experience and wider reading. Each termly unit focuses on three original texts - fiction, non-fiction and poetry - with fully resourced teaching sequences for each, plus additional resources to encourage deeper reflection on the theme. A list of suggestions for whole book class reading is also provided.
