Emma Raducanu has risen to fame in the sporting world after her spectacular win at the tennis US Open in September 2021. Introduce pupils in year 3 and year 4 to this inspiring teenager by reading a newspaper article about her first Grand Slam victory.
Pupils will read a newspaper article about the tennis player and will consider what makes her inspirational. They will then have the opportunity to develop comprehensions skills by answering simple questions about what they have listened to or read. Pupils will then celebrate her success by writing a letter congratulating the sportswoman on her win.
