Why is teaching children VGP terminology important?
Explicit teaching of grammar is very important when teaching English. It provides pupils with the correct vocabulary that can be used when discussing their reading and writing.
A list of terminology is provided in bold as part of English Appendix 2, with the expectation that these words should be understood. Additional terminology may be added to each year group if relevant.
