Support pupils to develop fluency when writing using a cursive form by practising handwriting using this collection of classic poems.
Pupils can use the poems to study how letters are joined, tracing over these if necessary. They can then copy the poems to practise a range of letter joins. Examples of longer and shorter poems are available.
It is recommended that these resources are used once all of the letter joins have been taught but speed and fluency need to be rehearsed. Handwriting lines and lined paper are provided to support pupils when writing.
