Idioms - KS2 lesson for the Scottish Curriculum

Punchlines are the key to great joke writing. Using idioms (saying one thing but meaning something else) as punchlines, pupils will be able to write their very own funny jokes to help them become Britain’s Funniest Class!

Learning objectives:

• To understand that we can use figurative language, such as idioms, to say one thing but mean something else.
• To think of at least two examples of idioms and understand their literal and figurative meanings.
• To create a joke using idioms.
