Reading Comprehension
This KS2 resource includes a non-fiction text on the Artemis space programme, which aims to use the Moon as a stepping stone on the journey to send astronauts to the planet Mars.
This can be used as part of a guided reading session or as homework. Also included are 14 comprehension questions covering the different reading skills of data retrieval, inference and the use of vocabulary.

Non-fiction is writing that is factual as opposed to fictional. This can include biographies, autobiographies, essays, journalism, diaries and historical, technical or scientific writing.
Reading comprehension is the ability to read and understand a text.
All pupils must be encouraged to read widely across both fiction and non-fiction to develop their knowledge of themselves and the world in which they live, to establish an appreciation and love of reading, and to gain knowledge across the curriculum

Comprehension skills develop through pupils’ experience of high-quality discussion with the teacher, as well as from reading and discussing a range of stories, poems and non-fiction.
