KS2 Oracy – New Year Discussion Cards

Develop speaking and listening skills in your classroom using these new year discussion cards. Two sets of cards are included, the first with questions and statements about the year that has passed and the second with questions and statements about their hopes and targets for the year to come.

The resources will give pupils the opportunity to:

• develop oracy skills
• articulate answers and opinions
• listen to and respond to others
• maintain attention and actively participate in discussions

The resource pack includes

• Discussion Cards Set 1 –reviewing the previous year
  A set of 12 PDF cards containing questions and statements to prompt group or class discussions about the previous year
• Discussion Cards Set 2 – hopes for the new year
  A set of 12 PDF cards containing questions and statements to prompt group or class discussions about the year ahead
