Through these resources, pupils can learn about the inspirational female pilot, Amelia Earhart, the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger and then as a pilot. Pupils will learn about her life, her contribution to aviation and how she inspired others.
Pupils in Year 3 and Year 4 will read the biographical text before answering comprehension questions about what they have read. The text 'Inspirational People: Amelia Earhart' could also be used as a model text and WAGOLL as part of a unit where pupils write biographies.
The resource would also be a perfect addition to learning as part of International Women's Day on 8th March, or during Women's History Month , also in March.
