These worksheets, covering words ending in -sure or -ture, are an excellent way for children in Y3/4 to revise and practise these spelling patterns.
The worksheets include five different activities in which children look at spelling patterns, identify misspelt words and apply their spellings in context.
They can be used within lessons, as an assessment or as a homework task.

Includes advice on when words end in -sure or -ture, and space for children to write their own examples
- Check
Circle the words that are spelt correctly, complete each word by adding -sure or -ture and add a word ending in -sure or -ture to each sentence
- Use
Use the images and words provided, add -sure or -ture to the words, then use the resulting words in a sentence about each picture
- Change
Read each sentence and change the word or phrase in italics for a word which includes -sure or -ture
- Apply
Write a short passage about the image, and try to include as many of the words given as you can

Pupils’ spelling of common words should be correct, including common exception words and other words that they have learnt.
Pupils should spell words as accurately as possible using their phonic knowledge and other knowledge of spelling, such as morphology and etymology.
