Explore poetry using this spring themed writing pack for pupils in UKS2. Pupils will read a short poem showing WAGOLL (what a good one looks like), describing apple blossom, identifying figurative language (similes, metaphors and personification) used in the free verse.

What is figurative language?
Figurative language uses words and ideas to suggest meaning and creates a vivid image for the reader. In KS2, metaphors, similes, personification, onomatopoeia and alliteration are usually explored. It is commonly used in fiction and poetry.
