This ‘Make a Match’ game is a fun way for pupils in year 2 to explore punctuating different sentence types. Pupils can decide which sentence type is on the card (statement, question, exclamation or command) and then match the sentences to the punctuation that should be used.

The game can be played as a class or in small groups and is perfect for adult led interventions to revisit key knowledge and skills.

This resource pack includes:

  • punctuation cards
  • sentence types heading cards
  • 24 sentence cards
