Hanukkah is a Jewish celebration that takes place in November or December and is also known as the festival of lights.
Develop pupils’ understanding of Hanukkah and why it is celebrated in KS2 by reading our text about the festival, exploring why and how Hanukkah is celebrated. A comprehension activity is included to develop reading skills and children’s understanding of the text.
The resource could be used as part of learning in RE about Judaism, or within whole class or group guided reading sessions.
