Pupils can retell stories that they are familiar with using the story board template provided in this resource pack. Using the template, pupils can draw and write sentences or captions to retell a narrative and could be used by pupils throughout the primary age range.
What is a storyboard?
A story board can be used in a variety of subjects to support pupils to record stories, for example in RE or English. A story board can also be used to recall events studied in history or geography.

Year 2
Pupils should be taught to develop positive attitudes towards and stamina for writing by writing narratives about personal experiences and those of others (real and fictional)

- writing down ideas and /or key words, including new vocabulary
Year 3 /4

- discussing and recording ideas

- noting and developing initial ideas, drawing on reading and research where necessary
